Magical Specialties: Archaic Magic, Wandless Magic, DivinationA BRIEF HISTORYTo this day, the history of Koldovstoretz largely remains a mystery. Its Germanic fairy tale impression often confuses wizard folk, even more so, when the large interior deeply ingrains the architecture of Imperial Russia. Only a select elite are allowed into the castle through a process in which each individual student is divined by a group of Seers.
The mystery, however, does not end with the school. The students of Koldovstoretz are generally just as perplexing– Most notably, because student relationship is practically non-existent. Each student is given their own room and are taught to value increasing their own independent education rather than make friends. Free time is rare to catch with such a rigid schedule and not much can be awarded to Koldovstoretz’s extracurricular, which only hold two Quidditch teams for just a few students to join.
In tradition with their origins, the uniforms of Koldovstoretz has similar qualities to earlier Russian royalty with their olden style of shirts and dresses, both embellished with gold embroidery. Along with this, each student is given a large, ostentatious ring, during the welcoming ceremony with each stone representing what class they are– Onyx (first year), Garnet (second), Topaz (third), Emerald (forth), Ruby (fifth), Lapis Lazuli (sixth), Alexandrite (seventh), Amethyst (eight), and Moonstone (alumni). The rings fall in the same style, a clear indication of a Koldovstoretz student. The obvious royal quality given to the students was decided to display the prominent status of the special Koldovstoretz pupils, however, the Durmstrang students often find amusement with their seemingly pretentious neighbor school.
CLASS STRUCTUREWith such a small population, the students of Koldovstoretz receive a very personalized education. While they do learn in classes with the students of their grade, grades can be as small as ten students. Outside of normal classes, every student has individual time with a professor to hone their own special abilities. Testing is done twice a year– Once before the Winter Break and another at the end of the year. It consists of each student performing age-level magic along with some in their own expertise in front of a panel of Koldovstoretz faculty.
